Orion Markets vs Volza: what each covers and who it suits
Mis à jour: 22.10.2026
Volza and Orion Markets differ most in breadth and in what you get. Volza's website says it covers about 200 countries and over 3 billion shipment records, combining detailed shipment data for about 50 countries with mirror and statistical data for the rest, and it gives access to individual shipments and decision-maker contacts. Orion Markets covers 14 countries with shipment-level data and shows ready answers instead of records: company profiles, market reports, a ranking of export markets and lists of buyers and suppliers. If you need many countries in one subscription, Volza offers that; if your markets are among Orion's 14 countries and you want an answer rather than a dataset, Orion Markets is built for that.
The facts about Volza below come from its official website, volza.com, including its pricing and API pages, as viewed on 22 October 2026. Plans and trial terms change, so check the current version there.

What "200 countries" means
The Volza pricing page splits its countries into several kinds of databases: detailed, mirror, one-sided and statistical. The page does not explain each kind in detail, but the general idea of mirror data is well known: a country's trade is described through what its partners report. If a country does not publish its own shipment data, its imports can still be seen in the exports of the countries that ship to it. This shows the market, but only the part of the trade that appears in the partners' data.
So when you compare coverage, look at your own countries and at which kind of data each one has, not only at the total. Ask the same question of any provider, Orion Markets included.
What Volza is built for
Volza is a global search tool for shipment data aimed at exporters, importers and sourcing teams. According to its website, you can search by product, HS code or company, view and download full shipments within your credits, build dashboards, and reach decision makers through their phone, email and LinkedIn. It offers support around the clock through live chat, WhatsApp, Zoom and email, and APIs that bring shipment data, buyer and supplier profiles and contacts into your own systems.
What Orion Markets is built for
Orion Markets works with foreign trade shipment data of 14 countries and answers concrete commercial questions:
- Company profiles show what a company imports and exports, from which countries and with which partners.
- Reports in Analyze markets by product and over 4,300 ready reports in Ready-made research show market size, importers and suppliers with their shares, prices per kilogram, countries of origin and seasons.
- Find new export markets ranks countries for your product, based on your cost, demand, competition, duties and restrictions.
- Find buyers and Find suppliers give shortlists of companies that already trade your product.
- Monitoring follows companies, markets and whole countries and sends alerts about significant changes.
Individual shipment records are not shown, and raw rows cannot be downloaded. You get the result of the analysis, not the material for it.
When to choose Volza
- You need many countries at once. One subscription covers about 200 countries, with detailed data for about 50 of them.
- You want to read and download shipments yourself. Full shipment view and downloads are part of the plans.
- Contacts are the main goal. Decision-maker phones, emails and LinkedIn profiles are a central feature.
- You want a free trial before buying. Volza offers one without a credit card.
- Your countries are not among Orion's 14, for example India, Turkey, Indonesia or most of Africa.
When Orion Markets fits better
- Your markets are among the 14 countries, such as Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Armenia, Mexico, Colombia, Vietnam, Bangladesh or Pakistan, and you want ready figures for them.
- You need a decision, not a search. Which country to export to, who the importers of a product are and what share each has, whether a buyer's story matches its trade.
- You want to pay for a month. Orion's tariffs are monthly or yearly.
- Your team works in another language. The interface is available in 20 languages, including Russian, Spanish, Turkish, Vietnamese, Kazakh and Uzbek.
- You want to watch markets and countries, not only companies. Monitoring covers all three levels.
Orion Markets' limits to keep in mind
- 14 countries with shipment-level data, against about 200 countries of different kinds on Volza. No data for the United States, the European Union, China or India.
- For most countries the data starts in 2025 or 2026, and for some recently added countries there is only one month so far. Since July 2025, data for Russia covers only trade with Kazakhstan. Current periods are on the data coverage page.
- No individual shipment records and no raw downloads.
- No free trial as such: free registration opens samples and lists without figures, and full data needs a paid tariff.
How to compare them on your own product
- List your target countries and check, for each one, whether the data is detailed, mirror or statistical, and which months it covers.
- Take a company you know and see whether both services show its real partners and products.
- Check what you can do without paying, and what the paid plan includes: countries, users, downloads, contacts, monitoring, API.
