Orion Markets vs Tradesparq: what each covers and who it suits
Aktualisiert: 22.10.2026
Tradesparq is a trade data platform based in Shanghai, founded in 2006 according to its website. It gives access to shipment records and company profiles, and its site lists trade data for more than 200 countries and regions, of different kinds: shipment-level data for about 40 countries (customs data for 36, plus bill-of-lading data for 13, including the United States and Brazil), mirror data and logistics data. Orion Markets covers 14 countries with shipment-level data and shows ready answers instead of records: company profiles, market reports, a ranking of export markets and lists of buyers and suppliers. The two overlap a lot: 11 of Orion's 14 countries are on Tradesparq's list of shipment-level datasets. The choice mostly comes down to whether you want records to work with or ready answers.
The facts about Tradesparq below come from its official website, tradesparq.com, including the Products, Data Countries and Package pages and the About page on global.tradesparq.com, as viewed on 22 October 2026. Check the current version there before you decide.

What Tradesparq is built for
Tradesparq is a search and analysis tool over shipment records. According to its Products page, you can:
- search by product, HS code, company, port or route, and open each shipment record;
- see a company's trade trends, products and partners, and compare several companies side by side;
- follow a company and get an email when it has new shipments;
- follow a market and see new and lost suppliers, buyers and competitors;
- get company contact details and key people.
Its Package page describes unlimited shipment and company searches and unlimited tracking within each yearly package, with downloads of shipment records. The packages differ mainly in which countries are included, from US import data only to several dozen countries for imports and exports.
What Orion Markets is built for
Orion Markets works with foreign trade shipment data of 14 countries and gives ready answers to commercial questions:
- Company profiles show what a company imports and exports, from which countries and with which partners.
- Reports in Analyze markets by product and more than 4,300 ready reports in Ready-made research show market size, importers and suppliers with their shares, prices per kilogram, countries of origin and seasons.
- Find new export markets ranks countries for your product, based on your cost, demand, competition, duties and restrictions.
- Find buyers and Find suppliers give shortlists of companies that already trade your product.
- Monitoring follows companies, markets and whole countries.
Individual shipment records are not shown and cannot be downloaded. That is the main practical difference from Tradesparq.
Where the coverage overlaps
Tradesparq's list of shipment-level datasets includes Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Panama, Bangladesh, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, the Philippines, Uzbekistan and Vietnam, all of which Orion Markets also covers. Armenia and Mongolia appear on Tradesparq only among mirror or CIS datasets, and Russia does not appear on the Data Countries page. Periods are not listed on that page, so ask Tradesparq about the months you need and compare them with Orion's data coverage page.
When to choose Tradesparq
- You want to work with shipment records yourself: read them, download them and build your own tables.
- You need countries Orion does not cover, for example India, Indonesia, Turkey, Brazil, Peru, Ecuador, Ukraine or several African countries, or US imports.
- You prefer one yearly package with unlimited searches over monthly quotas.
- Your team works in Chinese or Russian. The site is offered in Chinese, English and Russian, and the company is based in Shanghai.
When Orion Markets fits better
- You need the answer rather than the records. Market size and shares, a ranking of export markets, a shortlist of buyers or a check of a company's trade are ready to read.
- Russia, Armenia or Mongolia matter to you and you need shipment-level figures for them; check the periods on the data coverage page first: for Mongolia there is only one month so far, and for Russia see the limits below.
- You want to pay for a month or start with free samples before buying.
- Your team works in other languages. The interface is available in 20 languages, including Russian, Spanish, Turkish, Vietnamese, Kazakh and Uzbek.
- You want monitoring of whole markets and countries, not only of companies.
Orion Markets' limits to keep in mind
- 14 countries with shipment-level data. No data for the United States, the European Union, China or India.
- For most countries the data starts in 2025 or 2026, and for some recently added countries there is only one month so far. Russia goes back to 2012, but since July 2025 it covers only trade with Kazakhstan. Current periods are on the data coverage page.
- No individual shipment records and no raw downloads.
How to compare them on your own product
- For each target country, find out on both sides which kind of data it is (shipment-level, mirror or other) and which months it covers.
- Test a product and a company you know well.
- Decide who will use the data: an analyst who needs records, or a sales or purchasing manager who needs an answer.
- Compare what the price includes: countries, users, downloads, contacts, monitoring, API.
